# About Akshay Maurya

Mobile, web and AI engineer in Bengaluru. Four years shipping apps people use every day, and the open-source tools underneath them.

I'm Akshay Maurya — a Flutter and iOS engineer based in Bengaluru, India, four years into building mobile products, the last two of them at CRED. I studied Electronics & Communication at NSIT Delhi, graduating in 2022, and I have been putting things on the internet since 2015.

Most of my work is the layer people actually touch: gift cards, credit scores, rewards, the animation that has to land at sixty frames a second on a four-year-old Android phone. I care about the last ten percent of a build — the frame that stutters, the megabytes nobody wants to hunt down, the interaction that finally feels right.

## What I have shipped

At CRED I was an SDE-1 in Mobile Engineering from June 2024 to March 2026. I shipped the Credit Score flows end to end, owned the Gift Cards frontend and helped scale it to the second-largest player by GMV in India — CRED's fastest-growing line of business — and built in-app animations that were repeatedly featured on 60fps.design.

Before that I was a product engineer at qoohoo and Kalam, a Y Combinator W23 company, where I built the creator app from zero to one and the SuperKalam AI-education web app, including its retrieval and question-generation pipelines. Earlier still I co-founded Hash Studios while at college, which shipped Prism Wallpapers to more than 300,000 installs and remains the verified pub.dev publisher behind my open-source Flutter packages.

## Open source and side projects

I maintain Flutter and Dart packages that other developers depend on in production: flutter_floating_bottom_bar, async_wallpaper and secure_content, plus two newer ones — ai_sdk_dart, a port of the Vercel AI SDK to Dart, and dart_tui, an Elm-style terminal UI framework. Live download and star counts for all of them are on the home page.

Alongside that I run a couple of small products, including deploy-hermes, managed hosting for AI agents with revenue verified by a third party. Since April 2026 most of my time has gone into a fintech mobile app I am building with one other person.
